Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I offer individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, and family therapy. One of my specialties is Inner Relationship Focusing, a process that helps develop your capacity to listen to your feelings with compassion. This ability can be life-changing, bringing increased ease to every aspect of your life. We can also incorporate art-making into this process. Art can be a powerful way of expressing emotions that words alone sometimes can't access. I also specialize in Filial Therapy, a play-based therapy for families with children ages 3-10. I coach parents to provide empathic listening and positive discipline to strengthen relationships and address difficult behaviors and emotions. Sometimes quite quickly, this model can initiate lasting change and teach skills you will continue to use long after our work together. My style is compassionate, professional, collaborative, and responsive to your needs. Call or email to find out more about working with me.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
