Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with children, families, and individual adults. One of my specialties is a play-based approach to family therapy (Filial Therapy) with children 3-10 that addresses emotional and behavioral issues and builds children's and parents' confidence, resilience, and well-being. I also offer individual Focusing-oriented Therapy and guided Inner Relationship Focusing sessions for adults, individual Play Therapy for children, and incorporate Expressive Arts Therapy. My particular areas of emphasis include adoption, anxiety, attachment, depression, divorce, emotional regulation, grief and loss, military deployment, oppositional behavior, self-care, self-esteem, and trauma. My style is compassionate, professional, collaborative, and responsive to your needs.

About My Practice

Office Hours
Please call for a free phone consultation and to schedule an appointment. I look forward to speaking with you.
Services
I offer individual Focusing-oriented Therapy for adults, as well as group trainings in Inner Relationship Focusing. Focusing is a process that helps you learn how to listen to your own feelings in a compassionate way, which leads to you feeling more resilient, capable, energized, and whole. I also offer individual Play Therapy for children ages 3-10, and Filial Therapy, a style of family play therapy for families with children ages 3-10. In approximately 15 sessions or 4+ months, I can coach your family in learning and applying specific tools for strengthening relationships and communication, addressing challenging situations, and managing difficult behaviors and emotions. This short-term model initiates lasting change and teaches skills you will continue to use long after our work together. In addition to my office location, when scheduling permits I offer family therapy home visits. Home visits are ideal for Filial family play therapy, since Filial therapy supports parents in working toward conducting therapeutic play sessions on their own. Call or email to find out more about the services I provide.
